The Prophet Nahum says:

The One Who Is is passionate and vengeful.
The One Who Is is fierce, and rages against foes.

The One Who Is is patient, but not infinitely so.
God’s path is a tornado, a hurricane; clouds are the dust of God’s feet …….

Who can stand before the fury of God?
Who can resist the wrath of God?
The anger of the One Who Is pours out like fire, and rocks shatter because of the Divine.
The One Who Is is good to those who hope in the Divine, a refuge in times of distress.
The One Who Is is mindful of those who seek refuge in the Divine.

——- Nahum 1:1-7

Seek refuge in God, not with God. Do not continue the delusion that God is other than you, or that you are separate from God. Do not resist God’s anger. Do not pretend you can douse God’s fire. Surrender to what is as what must be, given the conditions you have set in motion.

Taking refuge in God means taking no action and fueling no consequence. It means allowing the fires of the past to burn themselves out in the present. You will be burned — make no mistake. You will be pained; there is no escape. But sit and wait and know in whom you dwell, and the suffering will pass. Despair will give way to joy, if you will allow it.
